Commissioned by Action Aid, as a photographer under the Africa Film Network, we embarked on a journey to the Kenyan coast, visiting Mwakirunge and Magarini, located in Mombasa and Malindi towns respectively.
Our team mission was to document the lives and challenges faced by young girls in accessing education and a decent livelihood. From girls living and working at the Mwakirunge dumping site, to those in rural areas, we sought to provide visual evidence in support of the need for Action Aid's intervention in it's mandate to achieve social justice, gender equality and poverty eradication.
